Hero MotoCorp has launched the first product of its electric sub-brand Vida, the Vida V1 electric scooter at a starting price of Rs 1,45,000. The long-awaited Vida e-scooter has been launched with options between the Visa Plus and Vida Pro models. The former will cost Rs 1,45,000 and the latter Rs 1,59,000.
Hero MotoCorp was in no rush to enter the EV game and took its time to come up with the Vida brand and its products. And we can note that the scooter has been designed with great attention to detail. In terms of design, the scooter looks extremely modern and features a distinct sharp look. At the front, the electric scooter has a sharp front panel with full LED headlights, which also houses LED daytime running lights. Moving a bit away from the headlight, the Vida V1 gets small but powerful LED turn signals that protrude from a short black shade. The e-scooter also has split seats, a 26L luggage compartment, two-tone alloy wheels and a generously sized handle.

Vida electric scooters come with extremely convenient replaceable batteries. Other technological features of the Vida electric scooters include a 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen dashboard, keyless entry, emergency alert, follow me home lights, and multiple riding modes. There is also a proprietary app to pair your phone with it. Another special attribute is the limp home function of the Vida model. In the event that the SOC drops below a set threshold, VIDA V1 provides the rider with the ability to drive at a speed of 10 km/h for approximately 8 kilometers to a destination of their choice.
As for the Vida electric scooter variants, the company has introduced two models as mentioned earlier. Vida Pro and Vida Plus. According to the company, the Vida Pro has a range of 165 km on a single full charge and accelerates from 0-40 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The maximum speed of the scooter has been limited to 80 km/h and its replaceable batteries can be quickly charged. Vida also claims that the battery can be charged from 0-80 percent in just 65 minutes. We move on to the next variant of the model – Vida Plus. It has a stated range of 143 km. The top speed of this cheaper variant is the same as the Pro variant at 80km/h, but the 0-40km/h sprint takes slightly longer at 3.4 seconds.
The high-voltage Li-Ion battery containing nickel and manganese cobalt is also one of the highlighted features of the VIDA V1. The battery of the VIDA V1 Pro has a capacity of 3.94 kWh, while the battery of the VIDA V1 Plus has a capacity of 3.44 kWh. Hero offers a standard five-year, 50,000-mile warranty on the scooters. Meanwhile, the batteries will last for three years or up to 30,000 miles, according to the company.
