If reports are to be believed, Mahindra Atom will be brought in a total of four variants – K1, K2, K3 and K4. The Atom K1 and K2 will be powered by a 7.4 kWh battery pack, while the Atom K3 and K4 will be powered by an 11.1 kWh battery pack. The smaller battery pack weighs 98 kg, while the larger unit weighs 47 kg.

The company is using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP) batteries which are known for their fireproof nature. This battery is lightweight as well as lasts for a long time and has the ability to tolerate high temperatures. Apart from this, this battery requires minimum maintenance and also provides better range on full charge.

Talking about the features, the K1 and K3 do not come with air conditioning. The range will be reduced when the AC is introduced, but the non-AC variants will be able to cover more miles on a full charge. The Mahindra Atom gets a unique grille design, large headlamps and a large windscreen. It is a boxy design electric car based on monocoque chassis.
